Collector’s Insight

We’ve seen quite a few variations of the Seiko Alpinist over the years, but this one stands out for its dial. Inspired by snow-covered mountain peaks, the textured white surface is a refreshing change from the traditional green Alpinist we’re all familiar with. The blue compass ring and strap work particularly well with it, giving the watch a completely different appearance.

There’s also an interesting regional connection here. The SPB532 was produced exclusively for the Thong Sia Group, with only 800 pieces distributed across Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Macau and Brunei. I like seeing Seiko produce something specifically for our region, especially when the design is different enough to have its own identity. Underneath, it’s still the familiar and practical Alpinist, just with a rather attractive new dial.
