In 2019, Gorilla Watches took a bold detour into the world of high-concept mechanical artistry with the release of the Fastback DRIFT “Elise” Limited Edition, a tribute to British motorsport heritage wrapped in modern materials and kinetic expression. Drawing its name and color palette from the iconic Lotus Elise, the watch explodes with character—its deep British racing green ceramic bezel, matte forged carbon case, and electric yellow accents channel the energy of a track-ready speedster. But the Elise is more than automotive homage—it’s a mechanical spectacle. At its heart is a wandering hours complication, driven by the G-5238 module co-developed with Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier, mounted atop a trusty ETA 2824-2 base. Three rotating satellite hour discs glide along a bright yellow arc, precisely aligning with minute markers to display time in a fluid, mesmerizing dance—no hands, no fuss, just mechanical storytelling in motion.

The case, measuring 44mm in diameter and 14mm thick, wears surprisingly well thanks to its ergonomic curves and lightweight construction from titanium, carbon, and ceramic—a tactile nod to both race car engineering and contemporary watch design. The dual-tone Viton rubber strap, yellow underneath, green above, further echoes its namesake’s livery, delivering both grip and comfort. Only 350 pieces were made, each one a wrist-bound celebration of performance aesthetics and mechanical curiosity.
