What makes the Space Gold special is not that it uses meteorite, but how Formex chose to treat it. Instead of applying colour through coating, the dial is electroplated with real 18k rose gold, using the meteorite’s high iron content to deposit gold directly into the material. By soldering the dial feet directly onto the meteorite, Formex was also able to machine a beveled date window straight into the dial itself, a detail that reinforces how seriously this material was treated.
